Parents’ Association meetings are open to all parents who wish to attend. The more the merrier! We hope that this will increase parent voice, participation and feedback for our school whilst building a supportive and diverse community of adults working together for the best possible, positive experiences for our students.
We alternate between in-person and on-line meetings to provide flexibility to busy parents. If parents are open to supporting the work of the PA without being a committee member you would be most welcome to join our AGM or to let us know of your availability for assistance at school events only.
St. Aloysius’ College is fortunate to be served by an active and engaged Parents Association.
The purpose of which is:
to represent the interests of the Parents/Legal Guardians.
to liaise with and support St. Aloysius’ College.
to promote and develop the college and its facilities for the benefit of the pupils and school community.
St. Al’s PA also works on fund-raising events and provides opportunities for social/educational interaction between parents, as well as assisting with many school events.
We seek to promote active involvement of parents within the Association and elect parents representatives to the Board of Management of the School.
In order that the Parents’ Association Committee can be representative of all parents/guardians, we seek to encourage the nomination of at least two representatives from each year at the AGM, which is held in October. New parents are actively encouraged to join the Committee every year.
As well as the Parents Representatives on the Board of Management on the committee. The committee meets regularly during the school year and discusses the variety of issues that occur of common interest and seek to support and help the school in turn.
Fund-raising is essential to the running of the school and St. Al’s Parents Association takes pride in suggesting, initiating and supporting the many worthwhile projects that occur within the school. We also regularly provide support for cultural, educational and sporting trips that are undertaken by the pupils each year.
Please note that a Parents Association does not deal with specific individual student matters. Individual queries or problems should be dealt with through the normal channels, by contacting the Year Head of the pupil in the first instance and, if necessary, by appointment with the Deputy Principal or Principal.
