St. Aloysius College provides a supportive, inclusive and compassionate guidance and counselling service to all students. Our Guidance Counsellor is readily available and willing to provide the necessary information, advice and support to our students to support their Personal, Social, Academic and Career development.

Career guidance is a process of providing guidance on choosing the right career path. It is a comprehensive, developmental program designed to assist individuals in making and implementing informed educational and occupational choices. The guidance helps individuals acquire the knowledge, skills, information and experiences necessary to identify career options and inform career directions. Career Guidance helps individuals achieve their career options and acquire professional goals.

Our Guidance Counsellor aims to help our students define their career choice and the optimum route to achieving it. Career and Guidance Classes are timetabled throughout the Senior Cycle Programme (3rd Year to 6th Year).

Individual one-to-one Career appointments are made available for all senior students (5th and 6th Year) in advance of the CAO/ UCAS application deadline to ensure they are suitably informed to complete applications.
